The Brattons’ Cruise, September 28

Saturday, September 28, 2013

No one wanted to wake up and leave this morning but we had to do it!  After a final goodbye hug for Putu and a big thank you to him for keeping our stateroom so very clean, we went up for our final breakfast at Parrot Cay. It didn’t take long and honestly, I wanted to get off the ship so I could stop feeling so sad about leaving. We had an amazing vacation and I can’t wait to do it again!!! SOON!!!

As we made our way off of the ship, we kept seeing new friends. And we kept seeing other families who also had red-eyed children. There were more hugs, tears, and promises to keep in touch as we made it through customs. Everyone agreed that this was the best cruise ever!

I shared a ride to the rental car location with our table neighbor Jessica and two other travel agents while our families hung out at the terminal.  When we arrived back at the terminal with our rental cars, it was decided that we would spend part of the day with another one of the families in Galveston since our flight wasn’t until 8:00 p.m. After all of the rich food on the ship, we opted for a fast food place for lunch. Funny how we all missed being handed hand wipes just before heading in for a meal!! Spoiled people that we are!!

Soon enough it was time for us all to say goodbye with promises of getting together over Thanksgiving. As we drove off, we felt reality sink in.  Our vacation was over. Back to the real world. And as sad as that makes me, I think it is necessary. If we didn’t have the real world, then how would we appreciate how magical vacation can be?

Until we meet again, our family will be dreaming of Disney magic!
