After a successful career as a CPA, Ashley Glaze Russell decided that she was ready for what she calls her “second act” when she became an empty nester. A friend suggested she combine her love of detail with her passion for travel and put her in touch with Cindy Minor at Small World Big Fun. Since joining the team in 2017, Ashley has put her years of personal experience to work for her clients, planning vacations all over the world.
Ashley’s love affair with travel began early. Her maternal grandmother lived in Manhattan, and Ashley spent her childhood summers exploring New York City. “I know the city like the back of my hand,” Ashley says.
“New York, like so many travel destinations, can be a little overwhelming for first-time visitors. My job is to make travel easy for my guests. I want to take away the stress to make sure they have the best vacation planning experience possible.”
In the past two years, Ashley’s travel experiences have taken her all over the world, including multiple destinations in Europe and Hawaii. Ashley and her husband are avid scuba divers, and enjoy diving in various locations all over the Caribbean.
She began planning vacations for her extended family in 2001 with her first trip to Walt Disney World® Resort. But she discovered a new world in 2014, when The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ opened in Universal Orlando Resort.
“I adore the Disney theme parks and always will, but The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is something altogether different from any other theme park experience. It completely immerses you in the world of Harry Potter. I find it difficult to go to Orlando and not spend at least one day there.”
In addition to planning vacations to theme parks, Ashley enjoys helping clients explore via a river cruise, Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney®. She would also love to organize your Sandals or Beaches vacation or honeymoon/destination wedding. She has even arranged private fully guided tours for around the world.
