Our Universal stay last week was epic! I wanted to follow up on a few of my “non-negotiables” when thinking about a Universal Orlando Resort vacation.
I approach thinking about Universal differently than Walt Disney World, because it’s just such a different type of property. It is much smaller and easier to get around, and they have a few features that Disney World just can’t even compete with. So because of this, I like to make it even more convenient and even easier, even if you need a short stay! (Disney just is what it is – it’s big and nothing is necessarily convenient to everything. Not so with Universal!)
Here are my “musts:”
???? Express pass. Express pass. Express pass. I won’t even set a toe inside the parks without it!
???? Stay at Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Royal Pacific, or Loews Portofino Bay for major convenience (like the ability to walk to the parks). Also, you get free Unlimited Express at these three hotels. See above.
???? Understand table service vs mobile order vs quick service table delivery food options.
???? Buy an interactive wand in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It provides so much extra fun and something else to do besides rides.
???? Park to Park ticket. This is so you can ride Hogwart’s Express back and forth between parks. Not only is this a great Harry Potter ride (and a different experience both ways!), it’s a handy way to get between parks vs walking out the front and over to the other park’s main entrance.
???? Do Early Park Admission; this is a benefit of staying on property.
???? Use a lanyard to have your ticket (for train) and hotel key card (for Express line) easily available.
???? Motion sickness meds. Lots of 3D/virtual rides!
???? Understand rides that may go to a virtual queue vs a normal standby line (like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure) and how it’s being used that day.
Book with me and let me help with all this!
