From wandering the Great Wall of China to relaxing on the beaches of Puerto Vallarta and taste-testing her way through EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, Shannon has turned her love of travel into a full-time adventure as a trusted travel advisor.

As co-founder of The Rhodes Travelled, Shannon helps clients create meaningful, memory-rich experiences that go far beyond the typical itinerary. Shannon’s Top Travel Tips:

  1. While traveling use the notepad on your phone to write down locations visited, funny moments, and a few words about your favorite experience of the day. Title the Note with your trip destination and begin each comment with the full month, date & year. This allows you to later match that moment with the photos, from that same date on your phone. Oh, and don’t count on the auto date used when creating the note, that updates each time you open the note!
  2. Portable Charger, Portable Charger, Portable Charger… have several and charge them nightly! There are so many incredible things to see in the world and we love to capture all that we can! Don’t be the one whose phone dies just at the whale breaches the ocean surface.
  3. Don’t sweat the small stuff… unless you’re traveling internationally and forget your passport—then sweat a little! 😉 Jokes aside, having expectations and a vision for your vacation is a great place to start. But once the journey begins, try not to let the unexpected steal your joy. Give yourself the freedom to embrace moments that don’t go exactly as planned. Some of the best memories are born from detours, surprises, and a little spontaneity. Let go, lean in, and let the story unfold—you just might find magic in the unplanned.
